Who is she?

Hi there, I’m Maddie—the one-woman garden crew behind Tiny Clouds Garden Care. I take a hands-on, care-filled approach to gardening, focusing on the small but essential tasks that keep your outdoor spaces thriving. Weeding, planting, and mulching are the bread and butter of what I do. I work with intention, tending to each space with patience and attention to detail, because I believe the best gardens are the ones that feel truly cared for.

I’m originally from Nashville, TN, and my love for being outside started young. I spent most of my childhood barefoot, helping my great-grandpa till his garden (mostly so I could find all the worms) or picking green beans for my neighbor—$2 a bucket. Those early days in the dirt shaped me, teaching me patience, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. In 2018, I moved to Kansas City, and after seven years, I’m proud to call this place home.

Tiny Clouds Garden Care grew from a season of change—a time when I needed to rebuild after life took an unexpected turn. In the midst of uncertainty, I turned to what had always grounded me: working with my hands in the dirt, tending to growing things. Gardening became both my refuge and my path forward. What started as a way to heal soon blossomed into something bigger—a fresh start rooted in the skills I’ve carried with me since childhood. It was the best decision I could have made—one that keeps me curious, always learning, and always a little bit dirty.

I believe a garden should feel like an extension of home—a place that invites you in, soothes the soul, and reflects the seasons with ease. Whether it’s a small flower bed or a sprawling landscape, a well-loved garden has the power to bring balance and beauty to everyday life.

Why The name?

The name Tiny Clouds comes from cumulus clouds—those soft, fluffy heaps scattered across a blue sky, like the wallpaper in Andy’s room from Toy Story. When I see them, I’m reminded of the kind of days that feel wide open, where the sun is warm, the breeze is light, and all you want to do is be outside. Maybe you’re barefoot in the grass, toes in the dirt, or stretched out on a blanket watching the clouds drift by. It’s the kind of day that slows you down in the best way—the way that makes you notice the small things, like the scent of freshly turned soil, the hum of bees in the garden, or the way the leaves dance in the wind.

That feeling is at the heart of Tiny Clouds Garden Care. Gardening isn’t just about pulling weeds or planting flowers—it’s about creating spaces that feel alive, spaces that welcome you in and invite you to linger. A well-loved garden is like an old friend, familiar and comforting, changing with the seasons but always offering a place to pause, breathe, and feel connected to something bigger.

I’ve always believed that gardens, much like those tiny clouds, serve as gentle reminders to slow down and appreciate today. Whether it’s the first green shoots pushing through in spring, the deep colors of summer blooms, or the golden quiet of autumn, every garden has its own rhythm—a rhythm that asks us to be present. Just like watching the sky on a fair-weather day, stepping into a tended garden is a simple joy, a moment to pause, to take in the beauty around you, and to remember that there’s something special about right now.
